The Apothecary Keeper

I wasn’t always The Casual Witch. For a long time, I was just a woman who didn’t fit.

I WASN’T ALWAYS THE CASUAL WITCH. FOR A LONG TIME, I WAS JUST A WOMAN WHO DIDN’T FIT.

I grew up attending a church that never quite felt like home. The pews, the hymns, the quiet expectation of unquestioning belief — none of it resonated. And the older I grew, the more clearly I saw that the problem wasn’t me. It was the box. The world, it seemed, was full of boxes — each one built by someone convinced their way was the only way, and each one too small to hold the full complexity of a real human life.

I refused to climb inside any of them.

Instead, I did what felt most natural: I got curious. I followed my lifelong love of folklore and mythology down rabbit holes that eventually led me, somewhere around 2016, to witchcraft. Not the performative, Instagram-perfect kind. Not the kind that requires a specific set of tools, a particular lineage, or anyone’s permission. Just the quiet, deeply personal kind that whispered: this could be yours.

By 2018, I was practising. And something began to shift.

I became more at ease with myself. Less reactive. Less pulled apart by a world that still wants to hand you a sledgehammer and tell you to agree or get out of the way. I had reclaimed something I didn’t even realise I had lost — my own life, lived on my own terms.

My Psychology degree gave me the language for what I was experiencing. If it taught me anything, it is this: there is no one-size-fits-all system for living your best life, because no two people have the same life or the same experiences. We can try it all. It either works or it doesn’t. The only measure that matters is whether it works for you.

So I stopped looking for the right answer. I started looking for my answer. And then I started helping others find theirs.

People tell me I have a gift for simplifying complex ideas into something immediately usable — for taking the overwhelming and making it feel manageable, even beautiful. They tell me I say things that touch their souls. That I seem to speak directly to something they are privately going through, even when I have no idea what that is. I don’t take credit for that. I just speak honestly, from the heart, and trust that the right words will find the right person.

That is the entire philosophy of The Casual Witch.

The Philosophy Shelf

Personal Power

You already have everything you need. My job is to help you find it.

Brutal Honesty

I will always tell you the truth, even when it is uncomfortable. Especially then.

Non-Conformity

There is no right way to do this. That is the whole point.

The Ingredients

Every apothecary keeper brings something unique to the counter. Here is what I bring to mine.

A Psychology degree: and the deep understanding that no two people experience the world the same way
A lifelong love of folklore and mythology: and the curiosity that comes with it
A witchcraft practice built from scratch: since 2018, entirely on her own terms
A gift for simplifying the complex: turning overwhelming ideas into something immediately usable
A commitment to speaking from the heart: always, without a script

I don’t teach my way. I help you find yours.

Developing my own practice changed everything. I became more at ease with myself. Less reactive. Less pulled apart by a world that wants you to conform and agree and stay quiet. I reclaimed my life, and I built The Casual Witch so you could reclaim yours.

A Little More George

And because you came all the way to the About page, here are a few things you might not know about me.

I have a Psychology degree, and I genuinely find human behaviour endlessly fascinating

My love of folklore and mythology is what led me to witchcraft in the first place

I once sang in an audition-only acapella choir — yes, really

I believe Loki is deeply misunderstood, and I relate to that more than I probably should

NO PERFORMANCE REQUIRED. NO AUDIENCE NEEDED. NO BOX TO CLIMB INSIDE.

I’M SO GLAD YOU FOUND YOUR WAY HERE. 🔮

If any of this resonated (if you saw yourself somewhere in this story) then you are exactly who I built this for. Come and explore the apothecary. Something here is meant for you.
